Plant Of The Month - June
MARVIN'S GARDEN CLUB
Nothing says summer like bright Sunflowers! Growing them for yourself is a fun and rewarding experience, and there’s even the payoff of delicious self-grown munchies in the form of sunflower seeds.
PLANT OF THE MONTH
Did You Know:
Sunflowers’ scientific name comes from the Greek words helios (“sun”) and anthos (“flower”)
Whole, dry sunflower heads make great winter bird feeders!
They aren’t called sunflowers for nothing, so make sure they’ve got full sun in deep, well-draining soil that is loose and rich. Water young ones in the root zone, and once established, water deeply about once a week.
